Get a cheap ass computer monitor, or a cheap ass 720p native LCD HDTV.

720p native TVs are capable of a very clean and crisp 1080i.

1080i=1080p unless you have a gigantic TV, your eyes cannot tell the difference.

Way to spend $2699 on very soon to be outdated technology. OLED will be taking off sometime in the near future and will look considerably better, use less power, last much longer and be only a few mm thick.

Besides I found a 1,000,000/1 LCD 1080p TV for about £650 (off the top of my head) in the Argos catalog.

Ya well aware of that i will be buying that when it hits the 40-46" range i always upgrade to best sony tv even if its like a slight hair less on the grade i personally think sony has the best picture and samsung is pretty damn close.  My first hd tv was a 26" samsung picture tube.  I went with crt at the time because it was better than lcd and i was working for $5.70 an hour at the time.  After that i upgraded to the 30" sony trinitron vega crt and loved it then i had the kdl-40xbr2 now my whife's parents have that then it was the kdl-40xbr4 now my parents have that and i have the current tv in question.  In like 3-5 years i will have the sony oled 46" as long as the economy doesn't screw oled production.  I am just saying the current xbr8 with the led trilumunus back lighting is the best so far i think so the kuro is just two bland and not popping like the xbr8 don't get me wrong i don't crank the xbr8 the max on brightness but it just seems to come alive better and have a great spread sheet it brings to the table.

How can you say this is the best TV ever made, bar none, hands down, when the review you posted clearly states "this is not the best TV we have ever tested"?

I say that because the specs are pretty damn close but i don't have burn in and trailing and glare i have a very well lit room from big windows and plasma are terrible just like the samsung ultra clear screen with the high gloss screen mabey the plasma is better but if all i see is sunlight glaring and not the picture then what good does that do.
