Though i play madden more due to the none release of rugby 09 and rugby matches aren't shown alot in the U.S.; I feel that rugby is the better game/sport

I like watching rugby oddly enough (there are not many sports I enjoy watching... Tennis, Rugby, Badminton and Formula 1)
I am not American, to me American football is just a mess of rules and padded fools.

Oh, and in regards to the games.... neither have any appeal to me, only with the Wii and Wii Sports, and now Tiger Woods 10 has there been a reason for me to buy a sports game.
I'm assuming we're asking about EA's games based on the sports? In that case, definitely Madden. EA's Rugby series isn't very well made at all. Madden has been fantastic the last two years. No contest.

Oh and to me football is men/women in really small shorts kicking a round ball into a goal. ;)

I like them both. I used to like american football more than rugby, but after watching some rugby matches I started to "get it" and now I enjoy it too.
it's a shame that rugby doesn't receive the same gaming treatment though, it could be really huge in Europe if done right.

When was the last time you watched football?
rugby players generally wear shorter shorts than footballers (though some rugby players wear longer cycle shorts underneath)
