Oh god, seeing the US and UK prices close together is disheartening.

I plan to buy King's Bounty and Mount & Blade some day, but I think I already bought enough games this month (incl. my first two Steam purchases). I also heard there's an "upgraded" Mount & Blade currently under development. Maybe I should wait for this one.
I think I'll use Steam primarily for non-retail games.

@ Outlawaron EU complete is worth it, if you like Grand Strategy. But is very brainy, non-action type of game, with lots of micromanagement and a big time span(it takes you from 1399 to 1820 in the big campaign). If you don't like this type of game, don't take it, nor Hearts of Iron, is the same kind of game.

I recommend King's Bounty and Penumbra. King's Bounty is awesome, it will take a LOT of hours to complete (I have 35 hours clocked and I don't think I'm near the half of the game yet) and it's full of stuff to do. the only problem is that soon you'll need to backtrack to places where you will recruit units and the enemies don't respawn, so it will be pretty empty. Penumbra is pretty good too, although it has an absurdly clunky combat (you can "cheat" though).
Sword of the Stars is supposed to be great as well. I have and bought the new expansion, but I still have to play it :P
EU and Hearts of Iron 2 were already recommended; Elven Legacy apparently is also a good game, but I haven't played it (didn't buy it too!)
the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!
| aavidbacon said: I love EU and rank it higher than the TW series, but they focus different kinds of gameplay, so you can't really compare them. I mean, EU focus on the management part and not so much in the military, while the TW, like the name suggests is all about war. |
The lastest TW game doesn't manage to focus on being anything but pretty. The "war" part of E:TW is absolutely terrible.

Purchased Europa Universalis III Complete. I liked the gameplay and I get a fair price for it.
