Forums - Gaming - How to stop increasing development costs?

We can make lots of theories but the fact stands that most publishers have quoted $20-30 million in dev costs, not $10 million.

It's not like we even have a reason to doubt what they say, given their appalling financial results.

Simple, make the next generation consoles so powerful that they can simply model whatever items they want in the game from real life objects. It takes months to create a car model for say Forza 3, but for Forza 4 use a camera to simply scan the actual car into the game from all angles.

Tease.

I mean, blockbuster titles as GTA,Halo,FF,MGS and etc will be just okay, but for small companies with lots of great ideas and lacks of money this will be problem, vanishing this kind of developer to internet distribution or making them depend on richer companies to finance their games are what i'm worried about.

If you have a technology which can do that, it should be easy to decrease the detail automatically to make it work on any console regardless of its power.

But that isn't as much fun!

So if the development cost that high(60 million to 100 million) then I will expect a $100 just for a game or higher. damn!
