People who read the books and other harry potter movies will want to see this, but do not expect it to be good.

It sucked in my opion and I actually went into this movie thinking it would suck.  Half Blood prince sets up the finale perfectly though.

Only forrest gump would deserve my endless praise my friend, only forrest gump.

But it's still a really good movie. I just want a deserving movie to dethrone titanic (not that I thought it would, or that this has a chance either)

This is not a deserving movie, imo, considering the earlier adaptions became more and more cheesy.

Well, thanks for telling me. I'm gonna see it anyway, though: my father loves those damn movies, and I mean he loves them. He's a big reader, but he's never even tried to read the books, and yet he loves those movies. We'll see it one way or another.

They're both absolutely amazing films (Harry Potter 6 and The Dark Knight). No matter which one grosses more, there are two things to consider:

1. It doesn't matter, they both kick ass.

2. They will both come nowhere near Titanic. To hell with Titanic.

I don't see Harry Potter 6 outdoing The Dark Knight when none of the other movies did. It will definitely do very, very well though.

Harry potter has always been very frontloaded so expect it to drop fast.

It will easily beat transformers WW, that was never in question.

No they haven't. They're as frontloaded as any other humongous summer blockbuster. It's the nature of the industry.

Even if HP has a better opening day and 5 day it still wont come close to TDK overall, it'll be lucky to make much more then 300 million in the US. And yes, whilst all blockbusters are front loaded HP is one of the most front loaded of all of them.

In the rest of the world its different since potter is absolutely massive, but this report is about the US and Canadian midnight release not the WW release. It was absolutely packed at my theatre in Australia for example so it predictably will be disgustingly massive everywhere else.
