Have we reached the point where it's necessary to add a disclaimer that the definition of "dumb" is entirely dependent upon a modernist perspective centered around current standards and acceptance of what does and does not make sense? I mean, really.

Anyway, back on topic:

A big part of what makes this so insane is that most laws are only written in order to prevent things that have happened. That's why it's so funny that there are laws against things like bringing lions into a theater: somebody probably did it!

 crazy laws I could find for Belgium.

A driver who needs to turn into oncoming traffic has the right of way unless he slows down or stops.

 
Antwerp: It is illegal to wear a red hat while walking down the main street.

 
Brussels: A girl must have written permission from her father before she can wear a mini skirt that is more than 4 inch above her knee.

 

Brussels: It is still legal to throw Brussel Sprouts at tourists.
=> I'll be taking a road trip to Brussels tommorow, I just have to do this.

 
It is against the law for a pub to sell more than 25% of foreign beer.
Women must not be taller than 5ft 6 inch => How the hell did they ever enforce that,

No cows may be driven down the roadway between 10 AM and 7 PM unless there is prior approval from the Commissioner of Police.

All English males over the age 14 are to carry out 2 or so hours of longbow practice a week supervised by the local clergy.

Any person found breaking a boiled egg at the sharp end will be sentenced to 24 hours in the village stocks.

Any boy under the age of 10 may not see a naked manequin.

I'll say it again. I don't think it was EVER illegal to speak English in Illinois. Unless it was a Law back when the French had it. But that would have been before US was the US.
