Forums - General - Why Do People Like Disney So Much?

I forgot about the Pixar movies, those are still good. Although I still haven't seen Wall-E or Up yet.

Since Disney now owns Pixar, I'm ready to say that Disney is still the best animation production company on the planet. I really recommend seeing Up, if it's still in theaters where you live.

Because they're well crafter family fun with top notch animation. Not to mention many people grew up with them so they have a lot of nostalgia for them.

Disney is lame now, but Pixar is great. I'm hoping the frog princess is a return to form though.

This to me seems to be the equivalent of asking what the appeal is of Nintendo games. I probably can't come up with an answer simply because it's just so baffling that this question is even being asked in the first place. To me, asking what the appeal of Disney films are is basically questioning the appeal of animation as a whole.

Because Disney is awesome. There has hardly been a terrible movie. Yea a few in the past couple of years have been bad but the overall, they are mostly good movies.

I really like A Goofy Movie. The songs in that are so awesome. I think I'll go look them up.

Hi, this is Vince with Shamwow.

This is probably the best and most succinct answer in the topic.

If you don't see the appeal in this, there's really nothing else to say.

As classic a song as any in music. Some of the greatest, richest animation ever. Nope. I don't see the appeal at all.

Quite so.

It occurs to me that the only musicals I've really enjoyed were all Disney movies. They really did make some of the best movies in the business, regardless of how gorgeous their animaiton is.

But they weren't limited to musicals, either. My favorite movie when I was a kid was The Sword in the Stone, and that had no musical numbers that I can remember off-hand. And that's not even counting other greats like Robin Hood and The Fox and the Hound.

I always loved The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad as an underappreciated Disney flick.

We're merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily on our way
To nowhere in particular
We're merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily on our way
Where the roads are perpendicular

Oh man, the one where half was an adaptation of The Wind in the Willows? I loved that when I was a kid, but the part with Ichabod used to scare the Hell out of me. That damn headless horseman!

The very one in the same sir. Those damn unappealing Disney movies are just so damn appealing. Another two I used to love were The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under.
