In the beginning of the article, Jack Tretton is finally not coming across as a jerk in his statements, but rather as a guy with a very challenging product to sell and a large burden to carry. The ship analogy is a great one. Sony is where it is and they need to ride this generation out however bumpy the storm gets for them.
It was good up until the 5th and 6th paragraphs where he basically begins shooting himself in the foot. He needs to stop talking "Would've" and "Could've" and start talking about what he's planning for the future. No one cares what a $299 PS3 would have done but people today, future customers and owners alike, want to know what Sony is doing to make their purchase more worthwhile. He talks a lot about how the PS3 is a great value, but he doesn't talk nearly enough about what that value is or how Sony is working to up it.
