We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

Gamerbytes: XBL Indie Watch - Go! Go! Ninja Bros.

Indie Developer Dot Zo Games have been pushing out a few Xbox Live Indie Games over the past couple of months - but today's release truly shines above the rest.

Ninja Bros. is a platforming puzzle game that involves, obviously, Ninjas. Four colored Ninjas live in their own little worlds - the twist being that you control all Ninjas on the screen at the same time, requiring you to push buttons and jump around in the right order to get each Ninja to their exit door.

The easy and normal levels are very fun, but at hard and extreme difficulties it gets quite brutal. For only 80 Microsoft Points ($1) it's worth just giving it a go.

Platypus Coming To XBL Indie Games

Escapist Games have revealed that they're bringing clay shooter Platypus to Xbox Live Indie Games, and with a slew of new features.

The original Platypus was made by Anthony Flack, who's currently working on Cletus Clay for Xbox Live Arcade. Platypus also had a bit of a strange and crazy history, which any new developer should take into account when selling your games to a publisher.

This new version will feature HD widescreen presentation, improved audio and collision, several extras along with translation into several different languages. This version will also be the best for cooperative play, since you can play on the same screen with separate controllers.

The game is currently very close to release, and should be out in the next week or so.

Holy crap! What an awesome thread for anyone wondering which games to download!

There are tons of games I'm interested in, but the only one I've played  before and actually loved was Tower Bloxx Deluxe by Digital Chocolate. They're new to the XBox scene but having been topping the charts in mobile games for years. I can't count how many hours I've spent playing tower bloxx on my phone, same with my kids - they loved it because it was so easy. It's one of those "easy to learn, hard to master" games just like tetris, peggle or bejeweled. Only in this one you're handling actual buildings that can take you all the way up into deep space, versus just being looking at a flat puzzle board.

Here's their teaser:
