I agree with the whole piracy thing, it's the reason why the first two GoW's didn't have extraordinary sales, especially since the PS2 was at it's peak in terms of mod chips and all that garbage. That being said, I honestly believe that God of War 3 will sell more than both of these titles, with a first week of 800K, and lifetime sales of 4.5 to 5 million copies. Now, if Sony markets the game as the second coming of Christ then we can expect first week sales to be around 1.3 million and total sales of 5.5-6 million copies.
The first Uncharted sold really well. I don't think it's because there were no other games on the PS3 or any of that bullshit, I sincerely believe that the game sold due to the word of mouth and that's part of the reason it's still at full price; Sony is making money off this game. For those people who have played the first game, I'm sure they are eagerly awaiting this title and will buy it in the first week itself, especially since it has multiplayer now. Also, due to the strong word of mouth, we can expect this game to keep selling even when this generation is finished. My prediction is that this game will be marketed heavily by Sony and will end up having first week sales of 800K and lifetime sales of 7 million. That's right, I said 7 million! This game is Sony's best first party game (along with Killzone 2 and God of War 3) and because the game is rated Teen, it opens up to a wider audience.
