dclKeeL has a very valid point. The 'perception' of the disparity between the PS3 and Xbox360 is minimal at best. Remember, perception is reality, thus Sony is between a rock and hard spot. It's too late in the cycle to change a broad perception that the HD consoles are basically equal, and if they alter their HW specs significantly to make the PS3 cheaper then they admit to betting on the wrong horse. It's a lose-lose situation, but I think they should eat the cost of dropping the price artificially low. Sure, they might lose a bunch of money now, but it sets them up better for the next generation to get their HW (and accordintly the SW sales) back up to respectable levels.
Hardware is only a means to enjoy great games!
