To the OP. I hope you are enjoying Persona 4. It is a little slow to start but gets better and better as the game goes on. Personally, I really liked it and found it to be quite fresh with the murder mystery story but I personally like Persona 3 FES and Nocturne better. If you like these games, Digital Devil Saga pt 1 & 2 are worth looking at as well. The gameplay is simplified in them but they have a pretty good story IMO. Devil Survivor 1 & 2 aren't looked upon as well because they are action rpgs but they are pretty good too. The newest one was released pretty recently. Also, there is a new strategy rpg in the series that was just released for DS...

All in all, this is my favorite RPG series for its unique atmosphere/universe and interesting gameplay. I'm sure Final Fantasy fans will scoff because it doesn't have the grand story or graphics but once you go Megaten, you don't go back.

I need Persona 3 before I can touch this next masterpiece Persona 4. I absolutely have no interest in this game and I would of overlooked this game at the store shelves but hearing how good it is on the web. It has me at least develop some interest, so a purchase is going to happen real freaking soon

You can play them out of order.  They are only connected in universe, not story or characters or anything else.  Persona 3 FES is much darker and different in many respects except gameplay mechanics.
