Forums - PC - Weekly Digital PC Sales: Arma 2, Dawn of Discovery

On it's first week Arma II brights up the charts as it takes 1st and 2nd places on Direct2Drive's and Steam's Weekly Top Sellers respectively.

Meanwhile Dawn of Discovery (it's second week) reached the Top 5 in both DD services, not at all surprising since the main games from the Anno franchise are usually multi-millions sellers.

The Sims 3 is continuing it's crushing sales with even the MAC version getting a spot in D2D's Top 10.

Aion: Tower of Eternity (Korean 2008 GOTY) is doing remarkably where the pre-orders alone allowed it to show up at a top chart. Some are already calling it the biggest RPG release of 2009.

Fallout 3 capitalized BIG on it's weekend sale that lasted 4 days of last week, getting Number 1 place on Steam by selling as low as $22 a pop. It also got Number 10 on D2D... talk about legs! Speaking of legs, both Fallout 1 & 2 are still on GOG.Com's Top Sellers (I don't think they have ever left the top 10)

The only problem I see is that they are no unit per sale numbers.  I just don't know why PC game sales are so hard to track.  With D2D and Steam, they know how many copies of each game is sold every week, but why don't they release sales numbers?

They don't want to piss off retailers. Retail sales are still a sizeable portion of the revenue.
