Forums - Sony - 87% of PlayStation 3 owners watch Blu-ray movies

Honestly, I think the survey is probably busted. It'd be nice were it true, I love Blu-Ray, but that stat is AWFULLY high. I'd be shocked if 87% of PS3 owners have it hooked up to an HDTV, let alone hooked up correctly to an HDTV (I see countless HDTVs hooked up to an HD source using, *ugh* component cables, downgrading it to 480i).

It's probably like those surveys showing something like 20% of Americans think they have an HDTV when they don't. Like my grandmother. She's paying for HD programming, and is absolutely convinced she has an HDTV, when in reality she has a crappy 480i CRT TV hooked up to an HD satellite box. 0_o

I have 14 Blu-Ray movies. But I have 34 PS3 games.

I don't own any Bluray movies, but I rent them like crazy. Hollywood video has a deal that for $40 a month you can rent all the DVDs, Blurays, and video games you want and keep them as long as you want. So I spend a lot of time watching movies, and trying the PS3 games I missed put on for the last 2 1/2 years.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

Netflix is great with the PS3.

Wasn't there a report some time ago that said half of PS3 owners didn't even know about HD or something along those lines?

Well, here in Brazil i see the same. People are buying HDTV just to say they have one(most are 26" and 32", so size isn't a point there).

A very friend of mine have an 42 720p LCD, and Vaio Notebook that costs 2500 dollars with TOTAL HD support. His notebook have blu-ray reader and a HDMI output with sound, we can't BD for rent and buying is way to expensive(catalogues costs 50 dollars and new realesed can reach 100 dollars), but he could download HD content and watch in his TV... He just don't know he has high-end HTPC and a okay panel to show content. He uses dvd with component output, the image is a shit but he think it's awesome. I gave some tips to him.
