Don't know if Mass Effect got the credit it deserved or not, but the game graphically was fabulous.

These are still great looking games

Wow! On PGR4, I thought that was somebody that attached a camera onto a bike...That's so photo realistic.

Honestly, I think Gears 2 looks better than Killzone 2 (making it the best looking game this generation, imo).

I haven't even played it. Just going by video I think it's more impressive than anything else out there.

Gears 2 is VERY OVERRATED when it comes to visuals(imo).. and  I ofcourse had the oppurtunity for a first hand experience.

Trolling as usual ehe leo-j? If you can't fucking add any games to the thread the GTFO.

OT Damn! PGR4 looks sexy, I almost want to buy the game just to have the visual orgasm that would doubtlessly ensue. Also, While Halo 3 doesn't have the most realistic graphics, I would say that Bungie kinda wanted to keep the feel of the previouse 2. It just adds to the whole Halo experiance. I actually thought some parts of Mirrors Edge looked pretty good.

Past Avatar picture!!!

Don't forget your helmet there, Master Chief!

Dead Rising has a low polygon count (admitted by Capcom), and a low texture resolution for an HD game (only twice that of RE4), but in terms of lighting, it was one of the first to have loads of effects.

More importantly, all the details. You can see condiment racks in the snack stands. That was attention to detail. In my review for Chop Till You Drop, I note that the exact resource consumption structure of Dead Rising is likely unprecedented. I mean I don't know of a single game like Dead Rising (probably the closest thing is that indoor mall in Vice City, but you can't go inside most of the shops, and of course there aren't loads of enemies). So while it's not a graphical powerhouse it's art direction is some of the most amazing due to raw detail.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

I must say that the underground levels in Gears 2 were absolutely gorgeous. Fantastic back grounds, fantastic lighting, and awesome action going on in the midst of all the fantasticness.

This.

Even if KZ2 is one of my favourite shooter this gen, I won't let the "PS3-teen-squad" defile the graphics of Gears of War 2.

Everytime I play it, I'm amazed by the quality and details of the graphics.

Same remark for Halo 3 and his adversaries...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Hmm ....Condemned: Criminal Origins had some of the best graphics i've seen when it came out. I also think DOA4 deserves some mention as well, although some might say it didn't push any boundaries it had some of the most elaborate locations and so many vibrant colours you'd think you were on Toad.

The people who say mass effect has frame issues among other things are they exaggerating or are they as bad as ign claimed? I'm really interested in this game but just when I'm close people say its short and buggy!!!

Ynwa.

Easy. Three games come to mind:

Perfect Dark Zero
Halo 3
Star Ocean: The Last Hope

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

Braid has the best visuals out of any arcade game in my opinion as it combines great effects with amazing art and design. Absolutely beautiful.

Banjo is like playing a pixar movie...

I was always impressed by my launch titles Kameo (just been playing it with the little one) and PGR3.

Have to say watching the PGR4 bike video that was pretty impressive. Certainly in SD resolution and if watching over somebodies shoulder would not not of guessed that was a video game. The rain effect on the rain shield was very impressive as was the lighting, it actually looked like November in the rain.
