it's a shame that they don't nominate wii games for game of the year regardless of how good they are :(

| dunno001 said: Does it? Hell no, it never deserved it. I'm not going to say what did deserve it, since that's quite subjective. I'd probably give it to Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii, or LittleBigPlanet, for getting people playing things differently. MGS4 I would also strongly say no to because it's supposed to be GAME of the year, not MOVIE of the year... |
dont start with the whole mgs4 is a movie bullshit...its a great cinematic experience and i cant think of another game that combines gameplay and storytelling in such an amazing way..lets just leave it at that

I'm just glad gta4 didn't overtake zelda:oot as best game on metacritic. The internet would have burned down then.

Really, just like how Super Mario Galaxy won game of the year in 2007?
Oh please...
Dunno001: Oh, calling Metal Gear Solid 4 a movie. How original.
^ I like the way you own people. Reminds me of someone.
Anyway since SMG didn't come out in 2008... Hmm, probably one of the HD games then and I don't know an awful lot of HD games.
The 3 candidates imo are MGS4, GTAIV and Fallout 3.
MGS4 is maybe a tad short; one section extra for each of the 5 levels would have made it perfect.
GTAIV was a slight disappointment, due to the hyperrealism. Still a truly excellent title, however.
Fallout 3 initially failed to engage me whatsoever. Half a year on, I'm enjoying it. Preferred Oblivion.
Would probably take MGS4 narrowly over GTAIV.

Thanks. You're quite the fighter yourself.
