I purchased a new 360 in april. It says reading when I put a game or movie then shortly thereafter it says open tray. Will not play the game or movie. Can anyone explain and is a fix available or is this a permanent issue. Thanks

hmmm maybe the disc is scratched?

No the discs are completely clean. no blemish

The laser is not detecting the disc..

The only way it says open disc tray is, when the tray is closed with no disc in it.

Faulty Disc Drive!

Call MS and tell them your problems.

Try running a lense cleaning disk, if that doesn't resolve the issue, talk to MS about warranty work.

you might have some dust problems...or a broken disc drive.

that sounds like a lens issue, as someone said try a lens cleaning product if it persists call Microsoft.
