Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Hmmm... First, I say we divide the best games depending on the consoles:

For the GameCube, it's not that hard. Metroid Prime easily takes the spot. Super Smash Bros. Melee is close second though.

For the Wii, it's debatable. Personally, I'd say Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, but Super Mario Galaxy can easily take this spot too.

For the DS, probably Pokémon Platinum Version. I prefer The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass though.

For the PS2, I'd personally say Final Fantasy X or Persona 4 (very hard to choose here). I've yet to play Persona 3 FES, so we'll see about that.

For the PS3, easy: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is close second though.

For the PSP... you guys help me because I don't own one yet (and probably never will).

For the Xbox, Halo 2 takes the spot. Halo was cool, but the single player was really repetitive at some points.

For the Xbox 360, I'd pick the game I recommend to everyone wanting to buy a 360. No, not Halo 3... You guessed it: Mass Effect! This game is too awesome.

For the PC, I will definitely say Half-Life 2: Episode Two... but yeah, you have to have played the two previous games to understand this one.

With that said, which game brought the most new things to the table and felt more fresh? We have a selection of shooters which vary from FPS to FPA to TPS, then RPGs which vary from JRPGs to WRPGs. It's funny to notice that (well, at least according to my choices)! We've seen many FPSs in the past, but nothing like Halo, bringing most of the cool things from PC FPSs to the living room (such as LAN-play, co-op, etc.). Also, who would have thought that the transition from a 2D to a 3D perspective for the Metroid series would have been that well done? And Final Fantasy brought something new to RPGs, or at least I didn't see much in the past, which I like to call facial expressions. It really felt like a movie for the first time, and that's a good thing in my opinion. RPGs shouldn't focus too much on the gameplay anyways...

So, if I have to pick one, I'll say Metroid Prime. I don't think I need to explain myself much here. It was probably most people's dream to see inside Samus' visor, and Retro Studios kept that same Metroid feel we all love. For the GameCube, this was THE game, and I still think it's THE game that amazed pretty much every old gamers' minds out there. It didn't revolutionize first-person shooters and I'm happy about this. It was just good to see something fresh in that genre.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Fire Emblem. DONE.

Resistance 2, or Left4Dead 2 or Timesplitters future perfect.
