That's been fairly obvious from the beginning.
From what I hear from our District Manager, GameStop Corporate has been in battle with Sony over the UMD-less PSP for quite some time. Patapon 2 being sold at retail via download voucher is a result of that battle.
Sony's caught between a rock and a hard place with the prices of both the PSP Go and the ps3.

Deservedly so. They created these messes and are the only ppl to blame for the PS3 and the upcoming PSP GO failure

Those horrible Sony bastards. They should just leave the hardware business.
Honestly, could you troll any worse? Don't do it again.
|
How is this a troll? They deserve it because of the business decision. If i choose to try and sell something way overprice and it fails, I deserve to have low sales and lose money. And if I made the product with the impression that the high price point was the only one i could stand to sell it for, I should have trouble.
It is not that they are bastards (that's another thread and reason entirely), but they made bad moves and it is coming back to hurt them.
they only reason to be mad it's because they buy used games for 5$ and resell it for more and this takes alot of that.
So if they are making good money this way why would they support a handheld that does DD as its only form of buying games? It would not make sense for them to do so.
