Forums - Sony - PSP to become a phone!?? Apparently so...

@axumblade

That's exactly what I'm hearing too. That's the reason I'm anticipating a switch to Verizon.

There are some (especially on wall street) who believe that Apple is simply using Verizon as leverage to squeeze out a sweeter deal from AT&T. It's possible, AT&T wouldn't want to lose such a monstrous device to it's fiercest competitor. Unless of course they can land the Microsoft smartphone.

This is what I wanted in the first place.

Well then your wish is apparently sony's command.

I'm intrigued about how sony plans to set this apart from the other phones in development. One of these devices have got to make use of the Tegra chip. Which one will it be? Sony, MS, Apple? Perhaps all of them.

There are about 15 million more customers on Verizon than there are on AT&T. The catch is that this is US only figures. AT&t is truly a world company and Apple had big plans for the Iphone which is likely why they went with AT&T. They were able to reach a truly worldwide market.

In the USA however the Iphone is integral to AT&T. If verizon were to steal it away verizon will dominate the US market no question.

Who knows, could be. Still at&t allowed for a much broader market to target. They provide service in a truckload of companies. There's word that Verizon and AT&T are looking to eliminate landlines. Especially at&t. With a device potentially being marketed as personal mini cell towers.

It'll be interesting to see how many more cell phones are made. What new features they might implement.
