OT-

Having just downloaded the Forza 2 demo and watched the Forza 3 videos the difference is immense. I'm really hoping Bungie pull on some of the extra power of the 360 for Halo: Reach. I know they like keeping a simple artistic theme that is a mark of the Halo universe but I can see having more realistic graphics really benefiting this game.

It is not too hard to Bungie beat Halo 3 graphically because H3 was not graphical master piece by X360 standards.

If Forza 3 has nicely lit terrain tracks (I hate urban tracks), I am all over it. Some nice foliage would be sweet, but I know that's asking a bit much for a sim that wants to run 60 fps.

I actually prefer a good track to a good car -- cars can have some decent environment mapping and look good, but most of what I see when I'm playing -- is the track.  That's what I want to look good, personally.  That track in the first shot JaggedSac posted looks decent... nice lighting really makes the diff.  The 360 should be able to have some really high rez lightmapping, and I hope it shows here.

This may work out for you as I've always found forza's tracks to look far more impressive than the cars.

 

@OP I'm not too impressed by the difference in forza 2 and 3 but the splinter cell............... now thats improvement in my eyes, looks like a different generation

This is kinda silly IMO. Your posting like 2 year old games against games that aren't even out yet. Now of course the 360 has come on leaps and bounds, but isn't that to be expected?

As much as I agree FM3 looks beautiful and the Xbox 360 is a great console and pushes awesome graphics, can we please not make this Selnors Forza 3 thread #29548?

Here are some Gears 1 vs Gears 2 comparison shots for you to think about as well!

Take with a pinch of salt as these are resized and come from Gamespot.

Again, don't listen to your doctor! Sodium intake is good.

I hope your blood pressure levels are good, I don't want anyone to faint. So to recap: I lazily stole pics from Gamespot, Gamespot sucks and so does the fact that the picures are zoomed and resized. Take a spoonful of salt and swallow them ok?

To any normal thinking person, of course. Now I wasn't here back in late '06 when Gears 1 came out, but if this board was anything like every other board on the web, there was many threads where people kept stating that "Oh Gears maxes out the 360! Thats all it can do!!!"

I would assume this is to prove that assumption false.
