The Canal+ Group has teamed up with Microsoft to offer French Xbox 360 owners a range of its pay-TV content.
"The partnership will initially focus on the on-demand services from Canal+, Canalplay and Foot+," Microsoft said in a press release. "Ultimately, it will be extended to other products of the Canal+ Group as well as other Microsoft platforms."
French Xbox 360 owners currently total over one million, according to the platform holder. The new service will give them the option to access around 6,000 titles, including 3,000 films, plus a range of sporting content including French, English, Spanish, German and Italian league football and the Champions League.
Last month Microsoft announced that it had struck a similar deal to bring Sky Player, Sky’s online TV service, to Xbox Live this autumn in the UK and Ireland.
