Forums - Gaming - Can Natal OUTSELL Eyetoy?

Yes, absolutely, NATAL will completely obliterate eyetoy sales because there will actually be some good apps for it, also, it makes the whole 360 experience so much better. The eyetoy didn't have either of those factors going for it.

Except that they sold over 10 million of them. Assuming Natal comes out this generation (or at all), it will probably be far too late for it to sell 10 million copies, so no it won't outsell the eyetoy. I think realistically it should sell somewhere between 1-3 million depending on many factors, mainly price.

Yes, but NATAL will probably extend into next gen. MS isn't stupid, they will improve it and remarket it for the next console. Also, they will probably be bundling it with the "New 360".

I guess it will MS said that they will integrate it in the New Xbox360 model in 2010. So every Console sold after this will have it. The other thing is if the People really use this technology. I am really curios about the term "integrate". Will they build in the Camera in the Xbox360 or what ?

Not really, none of the consoles are "doomed". I just don't think Natal will live up to the hype, since it doesn't really seem practical for the types of games that generally sell on 360, which would then limit how well it'll sell to the existing fanbase. Granted, m$ could market it enough and have enough new users pick it up... but meh. I just don't see it being as successful as people hope, tbqh.

But who knows, maybe I'll be surprised.

I have gone over how it could be used for all types of gaming in other threads, but space seemed to be the NATAL nay-sayers, last resort. The Jimmy Fallon show had a good example of the space issue. They taped off the area it used, on the floor. Also they said it would work with all space requirements. However, the gameplay was very buggy. I hope they fix that before launch.

Then give me a link such that I may enlighten myself, as I really haven't followed it much since E3. >_>

I'm not sure what's with the orange jumpsuits, I hope that's not another accessory we need to buy to get NATAL to work! lol

The first game they demoed seemed fun, but the second, I'd definitely prefer a racing game with a Wiimote or Sony's controller. :x
