I recommend you purchase Dead Space. Dead Space is an exceptional game.

Yes, I thought about that one. I might wait for the Wii version. Or maybe not. I do prefer Third Person Shooters over the FPS

I do not own a Wii and have not payed attention to that particular version, but I doubt the Wii version will be as beautiful as the 360/PS3 version. Honestly, Dead Space is a beautiful and entertaining game. The first game I always recommend is Bioshock. If the person has already played it, I then recommend Dead Space.

I think you should hitup the bargain basement! Also you should get a HDD if you haven't already to install your games if you prefer a quieter experience.

Condemned 1/2 (Truely unique, the first more than the 2nd are first person psychological horror brawlers)

Kameo! You can play it two player and its a really fun experience. A bit of a gem and a really low price! Its made by Rare, not too violent and can be enjoyed with others.

Crackdown -> This is truely an action sandbox game, not perfect but its bargain basement prices and fun atmosphere are really something unique.

Blue Dragon -> Is quite fun to play, Lost Odyssey is more grown up but your familiy may enjoy the child protaginists of Blue Dragon.

Ninja Gaiden 2 -> My pick compared to Devil May cry because of its smooth as silk controls and fair but difficult combat. Its easier because you don't have to learn wacky button layouts unlike DMC4. Its also bargain bin pricing!

Dark Sector -> Its not brilliant but it gives you a unique gameplay angle with the bladed frisbee thing. It was a lot of fun for at least one playthrough, its kinda a Gears clone with a twist.

You should check out some online games if possible: Worms HD (mega fun), Brain (Incredibly unique platformer) and Caste Crashers (Fun for the whole family)

Oh one last thing if your familiy loves Quiz games then IMO its definately worth it to get that online enabled and grab a Live subscription as 100 vs 1 I hear is pretty fantastic. Oh yeah further on the online thing, if you have netflix you can stream movies instantly to your Xbox 360 as well with a gold subscription.

Thing is, I don't have an HD TV just yet, so the difference in graphics are not that big. The only thing bad thing about this console is that now I feel that I absolutly NEED an HD TV. Maybe for christmas...

Dead Space on the Wii is a rail shooter, Dead Space Xbox 360 is a 3rd person shooter. You could play and enjoy both!

I can't tell if you're into fighters, but if you are there's Super Street Fighter II HD Remix on Live, and Marvel vs Capcom 2 is going to be released on it in a couple weeks. You also have BlazBlue coming out next Tuesday and King of Fighters XII releasing late July, so there's plenty of fighting games if you're interested.

Otherwise, for what you seem to enjoy it seems like a good enough list to last a while. I only see Squilliam mentioning Blue Dragon and that would probably be a nice pick-up considering you can probably find it new or used for $10-20. I don't think it's highly regarded but I certainly know I had a enjoyable time playing it.

Also Blake Griffin #1 to the Clippers.

@squilliam
what is this brain game? do you mean braid?

Castle crashers is 4 player offline and it's a blast.
Dead Space is a great action game.
Viva Pinata is a must buy. The kids will love to watch it and it's dirt cheap.Bargain!
Tomb Raider Underworld is the best in the franchise.
Overlord is a hilarious Pikmin type game.

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2

Burnout Paradise is an awesome open world (mostly) driving game. There's tons of DLC to keep it fresh, I really recommend the Legendary Cars and Big Surf Island. I'm just starting top get into online gaming mostly b/c of this game, the online community is (for the most part) really helpful.

@greg: Yeah Braid, though its a fitting brain fart as it could be called Brain just as easily.

Tease.

Not really. If I remember correctly, the game's main idea is based on the verb and it's meaning, right? I'm probably completely wrong about this. The game was confusing! xD

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
