Forums - Microsoft - Rumour: 320GB or 500GB HDD coming.

Its unlikely that they would put in 16GB of flash. 16GB cards are $30 on Newegg so it would probably cost about $15-20 to implement inside the console which is ~7.5-10% of the consoles current price or between 10-13% of a price cut console for a feature which is designed to be used on a console not connected to the internet.

Ehh no I'm not talking about some stinking flash card which would be slower than 2.5" laptop drive.

I'm talking about full Solid State Drive:

like this.

This thing could load full DVD in less than 40 seconds.

so a 320 gb hdd will cost the same as a arcade 360?lol

Something like that? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227436

Its actually close to feasable to actually install such a module.

Doesn't really matter if it will be 2,5" HDD form factor or something like you show as long as it fits in X360 instead of HDD.

My guess is the current 120GB HD is going to be dropped in price, and the next size up will take it's place, cost wise.

Don't forget your helmet there, Master Chief!

M$ needs to address this storage issue...if they want to push for great use of the 360 for non-gaming functions, then they had better provide a better solution wrt to storage. Pricing a 120GB at $199 is highway robbery, especially when you can find 500GB portable drives at Best Buy or Fry's or wherever for more than half that in most cases. If you want to offer a $250 GB SSD at $199, WHILE expensive, would be something I could swallow...but c'mon!
