Forums - Gaming - Amazing PS3 statistic

I think we all remember the strength of the PS3's launch in Europe, and since that time Ioi's figures have shown that sales have slowed considerably. Chart track now has a rather amazing statistic that not only supports those figures, but emphasizes them rather starkly:

http://www.mcvuk.com/news/28388/UK-sales-of-PS3-and-360-neck-and-neck-in-2007

Relevant quotation: "However, 55 per cent of all PS3 sales came in the first four weeks after the console’s launch date."

Keep in mind, the PS3 came out in March. That means it sold more systems in March than it has in April-September, or more systems in its 1st month than it has in its last 6-7.

o.O

Woah, bold claim there, whats the reputation of that tracker as far as reliability goes?

ChartTrack is respected. Whats Bodhesatva not mentioning (directly): They don't talk about the E.U. they talk about U.K. And well, the 360 does not bad in U.K.

But it will rock when KZ2 comes out. Probably not.

Well, if there is a god then that might be proof of it.

 While that's true, it's not to say 360 does particularly well. Most importantly, Playstation has been shockingly strong in the UK for the last 10 years. While even the first Xbox competed relatively well with PS2 in the US (all things considered), the same was not exactly true in Europe or the UK. To emphasise your point, it's just that the 360 doesn't do as DISMALY here as in the rest of Europe. Generally the UK has had a thing against Nintendo (my anecdotal school experiences of 6 PSX fanboys ganging up on my Nintendo love has left me scarred) being just about the only "developed" nation in the world where Nintendo never won a generation. Things are changing indeed.

 Also, I think Chart Track charges for some of its data. If so, it better bloody well be reliable. Course I could be remebering wrong.

And I thought Kaz said it had a poor launch.

this fit with what I was thinking in France.

1 month after release = 100 000 consoles easly

now = 200 000 consoles

Time to Work !

Wasn't there enough "The ps3 domination begins sooon" jokes? It isn't even funny anymore, adds nothing to a normal discussion and I personally would say it's said only to piss Sony fans off. Seriously just stop.
