Forums - Gaming - Why does everyone hate Tales of Symphonia and it's sequel?

The truth is that I'm playing the game right now, and it's not a bad game per se. I'm enjoying it, mostly thanks to Tenebrae, but Emil and Marta get on my nerves.

Soriku, don't get it personal, not everybody enjoys the same things, especially if they are silly love stories :D

Owned both the PS2 and Gamecube last generation and Tales of Symphonia was easily my favorite game of last generation playing through the game multiple times. I own the PS3 and the Wii this generation and TOS2 is probably one of my top 3 games so far this generation. I don't like the game as much at the original but enough to play through the game 2 times before starting games such as Bioshock, Little Big Planet and Wario Shake it, all of which I had gotten for Xmas. I would have loved a full on game where I could explore a world map and level up all of my characters, but what was there was fun to play. I loved the combat system, the humor (one of the funnier games I have ever played) and loved seeing the characters from TOS return to see what has happened to them since the end of TOS. Like I said I would probalby put TOS2 in my top 3 games of this generation behind Mario Galaxy and Uncharted but ahead of Ratchet and Clank, and Zelda TTP.
