Forums - Gaming - Final Fantasy 6 Sequel: Would you buy it?

No way. Prequel is the way to go.
FFVI's ending tightly wrapped up things. A sequel is not only unnecessary, it would feel weird, cuz there's nothing more to say.

Quem disse que a boca é tua?

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

I'm pondering on buying after years... I mean it says ripoff on it (episodic content)... but since I earn money now, I guess I can throw it out the window...
For 6 the descision would be easier.

Admittingly I was a little concerned also, especially given what the final cost would be. However, just with what's been released already ($11 worth), I've gotten 15 hours total in, and am not done. (I still have to do Kain's challenge dungeon.) And yes, I'm eagerly awaiting the next chapter... $3 for 7 more hours sounds like a steal!

-On a quest for the truly perfect game; I don't think it exists...

Square had a project to make a sequel of FFVI long ago... I saw once in a magazine, back in 1998... Never heard about it again, but I have it on my memory since that day...

by the way, the magazine showed some images too... the same menu, with shadow, edgar, sabin and a new character dressed in red and yellow... the game had a subtitle too... but remembering tha is too much too ask hahahaha

does anyone know something about it? :)

You might be thinking of the FF6 tech demo that Square made.  Think PS3 FFVII demo from a few years back.  They basically just modeled the characters from FFVI as a way to show off what they could do with the power of the Nintendo 64.  As you probably know, they scrapped the N64 and whatever work they did for this, eventually turned into FFVII.  Here's a pic:

Yes. A prequel would be better. But I would settle for a PS3 remake lol

Nope, not that one...
it has very similar graphics to the FFVI... it was scheduled to be a SNES release, but they just cancelled the project...

let me see if i can find a picture! :P

Would love to see a sequel or a prequel, I am not sold on a remake as I already own the game and just making a pretty version seems redundant. Don't we complain every time Hollywood remakes a classic movie, why would it be any different with a a remake of a video game we already know the story of?
