Forums - General - what's wrong with my TV? :-( HELP please..

i was gettin all excited to continue TP today, but when i turned my TV on the screen was all shaky (dunno how to describe it any better than that) :/ complete pain in the arse, cos it means i cant play anything, but i have no idea what's wrong with it. ALLLLL the channels are doing it, not just the AVs. it was fine 2 days ago

is it a problem with the tuning? cos i dont have my remote so i cant fix it if it is.

anyway, i know iprobably havent described it very well... but i figured in a forum dominated by testosteronei would at least be able to get some answers, if not suggestions.

help?

Well, first of all did you tweak anything in the meantime? Did anything happen to the TV in general in the meantime? Had any storms pass over and was it on when lightening struck?
How old is the TV?

The most basic solution is also a testosteronie answer - bang it a few times with a flat hand. If that doesn't work, try tilting the set a bit. Finally, try rummagin a bit with the cables. Twist them a bit, pop them in or out, whatever. See if that changes anything.

oh jesus i feel like an absolute clown.

i was gettin ready to bang it, like u said.. in order to do so i had to remove the clock-radio which was sitting on top of it, which for the last couple of weeks has been switched off when im not using it but for some reason is turned on today...

turns out it was just that messin up the picture. damn electricals.

you inadvertently saved my TV, thank you Esmoreit

Is is a tube TV, an LCD, or a Plasma?
try unplugging it completely let it sit for at least 5 minutes, and plug it back in. if that doesn't work, try different input methods. Try plugging a DVD player into your AV inputs, then something else and see if you still have the problem. If so, it's the TV, and you may need to replace it.

Past Avatar picture!!!

Don't forget your helmet there, Master Chief!

Haha ok that was easy. Didn't expect it though it should be a bit obvious. Clock-Radio's always recieve signals when it's on.

Now, vote for me when the "Attractive" user competition starts and we are even :P

I was going to ask if you placed a fan or unshielded speakers close to it, but clock radio works too :)

Testosteronie (or testosterny) is an awesome word by the way. I think i'll start using it
