still waiting

tx, mikeb... anyone?

still i wait

keep seeing tx slag off the 360 for not having them... but not showing me where the PS3 does have them...

PS3:  MGS IV, Uncharted, Folklore, Heavenly Sword, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Ratchet and Clank Future, Heavy Rain, Demon Soul, Kenshan!, Valkyrie Chronicles, The Last Guardian.

Ah, so lost Odyssey does not compete with those? I'm sorry, but that is just weak. Nice try though

Past Avatar picture!!!

Don't forget your helmet there, Master Chief!

How has this gone on for so many pages? Can we all just report MikeB for flame bait and his stupid little fanboy posts?

We all know he did this without any reason just to defend his precious PS3 against the latest multiplat games looking better on 360 DESPITE being lead developed on PS3.

So, everyone please stop posting replies and fueling his fanboy fantasies. Report him for what this is, flame bait and trolling.

Actually,The Lost Odyssey doesn't compete.  Play Magazine says the story eventually collapses under its own weight, and quite a bit of it, according to what I've heard is told in novel form rather than cinematic cut scenes.  Text games are so early eighties.

I think this part needs some further attention

@ nightsurge

I think the leading on PS3 means nothing more as a Tomb Raider Underworld developer commented on, the Ghostbusters related article was referring specifically towards multi-threaded policies:

Tomb Raider Underworld:

"asset-wise 360 was around first, so we made stuff keeping the 360 in mind first."

"Well, that all depends on your definition. Writing code optimized for the PS3 and using threading policies that are suited the SPUs is a given, because not doing so would not be acceptable at all. All our multithreading is done on PS3 first without exception, and other platforms emulate SPURS."

"Secondly, the matters of multithreading policies, the whole job queue architecture, encapsulation of jobs and their corresponding data packets, etc. that work on the PS3 are indeed more than applicable of the 360/PC. And as I've mentioned before, they work better than anything and everything that Microsoft recommends (so far without exception for us). The problems lie in the fact that that work is an absolute necessity on the PS3, whereas they're not entirely necessary on any other platform."

Ghostbusters:

"The PS3 is a more demanding system to develop on and it is what the Infernal Engine was designed to exploit from the ground up. With the multiple SPU’s it has onboard a solid multithreaded engine design can really take advantage of that and give you some amazing results."

It does not mean they are tapping more power from the PS3's Cell processor than from the 360's Xenon (thus a lot of headroom left for RSX pre- and post processing and other stuff to be added). Neither does it mean the game was designed with Blu-Ray / HDD streaming in mind.

The 360 version surely benefits from proper multi-threading design as well.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."
