are you refering to me? I was not dissing the game just making a statement about where are the Realism if they push the graphics why no damage?

BTW the Graphics are killer and was a great watch.

Damage has already been confirmed. GT5 will be one awesome racing game, that is for sure.

Damage in this game should be turned off whenever you go for long races or stuff like that. Who wants to be in a 2hour long race and get screwed on the last lap for taking a corner too fast. The xbox game that has damage is gay, it is very fake and retarded. Hit the wall at 150 MPH and only get a tiny dent on the bumper. I would rather have no damage.

Play games like F1 where they have really damage, i never even finished the demo without dieing, once you turn off all the helper crap.

That is why they have an Options Menu GranTurismo.

Kimi wa ne tashika ni ano toki watashi no soba ni ita

Itsudatte itsudatte itsudatte

Sugu yoko de waratteita

Nakushitemo torimodosu kimi wo

I will never leave you

Maybe they should dumb it down to 640p and upscale to get the lighting right.

Hmmm.

So what do you win if your prefered console sells more than another?

I think the cars are amazing. But the tracks? personally I think FM2 suzuka circuit loks far better. It looks..... more lifelike.

Why are GT5 trees so 2d?

"Why are GT5 trees so 2d?" I don't think they are 2D, but bland 3D sounds about right. I would rather have 200k model cars then life like trees. Plus the models in PGR4 are 90k, so that would give more time to make the courses better. But i'm not sure about FM2, but i'm guessing its the same as PGR4 in terms of the car models, so that leaves lots of room for better courses.

The cars are the best. But I dont think they are that much better looking. Overall the courses just dont look like they want to be driven around at the present. I hope they improve alot.

Regarding the shadows on the course not showing up on the car, i am going to say that it is still early and the shadows will be in the final product.

I played GTHD today and most of the shadows showed up perfect on the cars, the tunnels with the one open side was very nice, the flags in the crowd showed on the cars and they were even blowing in the wind, the banner that was over the course showed up perfect aswell.

There were two things that never showed up on the car, the shadows from the trees, these were small trees on the side, and in the other tracks with tress over the track i'm sure they will show up. They had this in all the other versions of GT.

The other shadow that never showed up was a tower in the first corner, it had a very light shadow on the course but it never showed up on the Car. Of course these shadows would never have a chance to be on the car if you were on the track.

The videos that have been shown are almost picture perfect to the real life courses. I remember this from the GT3 or GT4 pics that i have seen, they were showing off how the tracks look just like the real tracks. But in the full version that comes out the end of next year or whenever will hopefully have all the tracks that GT4 had. Most of the tracks are very good, and show off alot more of their surroundings then the present courses that have been shown.

But overall most of the tracks are very bland looking, and drive you nuts during the endurance races that last from 1-3 hours.

the strange thing is that when the car pass under the bridge there is no shadows...

I think that circuit shadows are calculated differently from cars shadows...

but still in 2007 a super cpu like cell cannot calculate correctly shadows...

I hope for sonians that programmer left this part on shadows programming for the last part of programming...

but what if when game will be out still this bug remains?????

granturismo is a good game...

but the more they concentrate on internal car simulation the more they forgot of external physics...

for the ones that ask my head cut :

I opened this topic with irony...

this demostrates that if we base only on graphics we always can find some annoying bugs...

maybe a minor thing considering the globality of the game

but

is it possible in 2007 that a flagship game powered by a 2 gigaflops cpu cannot emulate correctly shadows????
