Don't get me wrong... I'll buy Uncharted2 and God of War3... but these are linear action games, nothing more, nothing less.

It's a shame Mass Effect 2 isn't at least in the nominees.

Uncharted 2 won't  be as linear as the first. According to the devs, you can take different paths to get to the same place and take out the enemies differently (stealth or guns blazing).

Anyway, since my other reply messed up,  I wanted to inform you that R&C was in playable form in Sony's booth, so don't get your hopes up by thinking the game was great but it wasn't shown off to many people.

so you're saying that R&C doesn't look as great as FToD? I loved FToD, so if this one is more of the same, I'm all for it.

Then you guys should just re-play Tools of Distruction comes this Fall, and you two can thank me later for saving each of you $60 bucks!

Assuming you aren't joking here, which hopefully you are, I'm going to go into rabid fanboy mode and freak out about how this one is going to have trophies and it's going to continue with the story that was left off at with Quest 4 Booty..

Your hope is granted! 

And I will have that shiny R&C Platinum trophy even if the game gets 1/10 from IGN!

I have both QfB and ToD on my shelf, neither have seen the inside of my PS3, I bought them on impulse and haven't had the time to start them. What are they like? Decent stories?

With regards to GoW3 getting game of the show... well it was an awesome game but my money is going towards uncharted too, drake simply has more character imo.

Still GoW3 looks gorgeous and I love hack-n-slash games in general so I can certainly see the appeal.

no Scribblenauts, Forza3 or even New Super Mario Bros 4 in the nominees = instant fail. heck i though Lost Planet 2 would make it on the list just because its pure awesomness. i really don't understand this GOW3 hype after demo it looks exactly like GOW1 and 2 just a bit shinier and with more gore here and there.
