But From Software is not a really great company. The only games that was well received was Demon's Soul so hopefully Sony didn't pay to much :P

Level 5 is one of the best RPG company EVER! What do you mean?!
If Sony bought From Software, it would actually be pretty cool. Their Armored Core franchise is unjustly overlooked by the majority of gamers. Sales are generally bad, and they jump from publisher to publisher with every sequel. If the company was purchased by Sony, maybe the franchise could be polished up a bit and given a decent ad campaign, helping them to garner the sales they deserve.
Of course, Sony have only worked with From on one game, so a purchase would be completely out of the blue.
After playing Demon's Souls (my personal GotY so far), I've become quite a fan of From Soft. I'd definitely support them becoming first party. Given a little bit of polish, their games, though still very hardcore, might begin receiving a bit of the critical and commercial praise they deserve.
from software is a huge company. they have 360,wii, and ds devs. i can not see sony making them second party.
that is alot of laid off people. I hope they don't do it

That's not saying much, given the current state of RPG developers.
Level 5 are decidedly average. Some of their games may have a cool battle system, or other cool quirks like the georama system in Dark Cloud, but their narratives are often mediocre (if not non-existent), their menus are often archaic, and their games are often missing essential features found in other modern games (just look at how they're delaying WKC for over a year for the West to add something as simple as voice chat).
Their two best works are Dragon Quest VIII and Prof. Layton. The former was primarily designed by the guys at Enix, with Level 5 doing grunt work, and the latter is a simple (albeit very awesome) puzzle game.

You definitly know more on the subject than me but DQVIII, Dark Cloud 2 are two of my favorite games so that's why I consider them great.
