Gamestop just sucks. I pre-ordered Cross Edge (please don't ask me why - the game sucked!!!) and I arrive to my local store to pick it up and they hand me an open copy. No shrinkwrap or nothing.

I asked the guy working there where my brand new copy of Cross Edge was that I pre-ordered. He proceeded to let me know that Game Stop's policy was that if they opened a copy of a game from the shrinkwrap but never sold it they still considered it "brand new".

I told them they were crazy and that it is only new if I receive the game the way it was shipped from the distributor/manafacturer. For all I know they just handed me a used copy of a game if it isn't sealed. Has anyone else had this problem with this store?

I am definitely never shopping there again. I get my games cheaper online any way and they almost always get to me on the release date any way.

I don't like used games any way. Half the time they are missing stuff and they are dirty.

Like someone else said to - you only save like $5 for a junked up copy.

I bought Hotel Dusk last year - 'new' as I ALWAYS insist upon. They tell me it's the last copy, proceed to take the display case from the shelf, and sell me the game under the premise that it's new...      ...I get home and pop the thing in - lo and behold, a save file exists.  :|

I brought it back and they gave me that 'stunned' expression as if they had no idea it was possible - yeah friggin' right!! A-holes. They were likely that jackoffs playing it in the first place! I hate that chain, GOD do I hate them...

same thing happened to me as well.

when i bought xbla unplugged "new". they gave me a open case, and when i got home the disc was completely scratched up(unplayable).

i took it back the next day. they took one look at my reciept and then at the back of the disc, and they accused me of switching the discs

Around the Network

Just buy good new games and buy crappy used games.

Their markup on trade ins is ridiculous.

i dont think their is anything wrong with used games. i have issues with gamestop/ebgames.

i usually buy used games from blockbuster.
