patrick kane pleads guilty to 1 count of disorderly conduct. A non criminal charge. Just another example of the media spinning things to make matters look worse than they were. (Katrina? MJ?) The prosecutor was interested fully in proceeding with the felony... then it gets dropped to non-criminal. Tells me he didn't have much of a case. The police report and cab driver never mention they were suspicious of kane being intoxicated. If he were I'd expect the cops to charge him with that amongst the other bullshit charges. Sounds like the media basing judgement on the kid before getting their facts.

I'm enthusiastic about this - after years of Cloutier, Auld, Hedberg, Weekes, Snow, Oulette and so on, we finally have a number 1 goalie locked up for the rest of his career. I'm interested in the salary structure of this contract - I wonder if he's got 4 years at the end making 1 million or less a la Hossa, or if it's spread out more?
