Cammalleri to Montreal, $30 Million over 5 years (6M per year). 1 Million more than I would have given him, but Montreal has money to burn right now, so I guess they don't care too much.

I'm quite happy about this. Cammalleri is a great player. Still a bit on the soft side though... we need a bit more size.

Komisarek signed with the Leafs! That's a hard one for me to swallow.

Hmm, I thought Komisarek would be going to the Islanders for sure.

5 years, 22.5 million (4.5million per year). Lucic will still haunt his dreams though.

Well, Hal Gill helps in that department. And of course, there's always Lecavlier...........

Wow, that's better than I thought. I was afraid that Burke would overpay for a player like him. Anyway, I think it's been a good day for the Leafs (so far). I wasn't too hot on the Orr signing, but dropping Kubina for Komisarek and Exelby is a good move in my book.

I just hope Burke doesn't resign Gerber...

Although Gill's faults are often exaggerated, he can be quite a liability.

Lecavalier... I'm still hoping.

As long as he has a speedy partner that can cover for him on a rush, he should be all right. He's got a great stick, he's big, he's physical, and a great PK'er.

We can't afford that kind of money on another center. Time to let it go.

Excited about Cammalleri, pure goal scorer there. A replacement for Kovalev I would think.

I hope we resign Schneider still. I know we have two more D, but we lost Komisarek, Brisebois, and Dandenault, and I am still not totally confident in O'Byrne. I say sign Schneider and put him with Weber, lower amount of ice time 5v5, and pair them back up on the Powerplay.

Oh, and Komisarek is now a leaf... I am by law forced to hate him. You suck Komisarek!

Gill is getting slower every season, and doesn't play nearly as physically as you'd expect of a man of his size. He's a decent shot-blocker though, and has a huge reach, almost Charaesque.

Camalleri is a great pickup for them, though.

Some Sharks news -

  • Brian Boucher signed with the Flyers for a 2 year deal worth 1.85 million (925k per year)
  • Kent Huskins signed a two year deal worth $1.7M per year

I think Boucher was an UFA so Sharks wouldn't get anything in return (just letting go some salary but who's gonna be our back-up next year?)

The Kent Huskins deal seems a bit high for my liking, since we never saw him play for us. Plus that's also way too much for a 7th D-Man, so another Defensive player has to be on the way out for the Sharks (hopefully Erhoff, or really "Error-Hof")

That Was Left-Handed

Wow, they got him cheap. Undeniable upgrade over Gomez though (point wise). Hopefully he stays healthy.
