I have access to private tracks that are used for drag and circuit races. So it's not exactly like a Nascar track, but enough room to hit 200mph in a Ford GT

Lol, I'll take any Ford GT starting with the 2005 production model. The one I drove wasn't mine
I'm a poor college student. It was my Uncle's who is a big car dealer around where I live. If I'm lucky in a few years I will probably buy a Mustang Shelby GT 500 (2010 or newer) which will be about as close as I ever get to a 200mph car of my own (I think it tops around 180ish without any additional modifications).
Anyways, sorry for derailing the thread! Go sim racers!
People claiming either game is more relaistic handling wise are playing the PR game. Both games are very good simulations of the real experience, both also make some concessions but neither would be considered above the other from a neutral viewpoint driving simulation wise.
Forza is not a arcade simulation in the slightest although Forza 2 did have a arcade mode which basically gave you a car and track to go at alongside the comprehensive career. From a customization standpoint Forza allows you to change most components in the car (brakes, turbos, superchargers, wheels, bodykits/spoilers/splitters, suspension, remove interior, slick/race/road tyres, etc). On top of this you can tune the suspension setup, brake bias, etc. All in all the options are huge but to give you some idea of the depth check out this section on the Forza boards:

If GT5 is delayed until next year then I'd consider Forza 3, if both arrive this year then perhaps rent them and see which you prefer.

Mustang's are monsters, always been one of my favourite cars in racing sims. You could probably get over 200 with a few cars that aren't only for the rich and famous. A little tuning and a few ad-ons can go a long way.
