Forums - Sony - Sony's Motion Controller

Well they said it could work with previous game, and while we can't speculate that the motion controls would, we can concider the option that this means 2 wands and all the buttons from the dual shock 3 available.

This means 2 analogues (great in fps) and all your usual array of buttons.

And yes it needs the ps eye.

But remember guys. The ps eye has a 4 point microphone for voice recognition and it also has facial recognition and headtracking.. things that can help bring further immersion into the games. For instance having the screen move along with your head if you move it .. or the view.. etc :p can work well if used properly.

I didn't notice any analog sticks on those prototype wands... granted I didn't see a closeup view and I don't even know which buttons are on it, but I didn't think there was analog.

Don't worry. It was just a prototype model.

The final one should have analogues. Some pictures were leaked of drawings that are very likely to be the wands...

Just like drawings of the original wands were leaked previously.

^lets hope so because without analog they wouldn't work with anything other than Wii mini-game type stuff.

The bigger question is what games will be out?

Most likely games genres including sports, racing, and party games will be implemented with the sony motion control.

Later on we may see more advanced uses of the motion technology such as FPS or action games.

Doesn't the technology require the camera to track the wands? I thought that was the major point of the colored ball at the end, so that it could be tracked by the camera.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it just seemed like for a majority of the motion sensing it would require the camera.

Well he is taking into account that quite a few people will already have a PSEye (myself included) so won't require to buy another one so a 'solus' bundle would be better!

I mean how pointless would it be if everytime you bought Singstar you got the microphones even though you already had some... It is the same idea!
