^wrong, coca leaves and its DERIVATIVES

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Well part of the problem is that there is no regulation of the illegal drugs people buy. Those drugs end up being MORE dangerous than they would be BECAUSE they are illegal.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

guess these guys didn't live through the 70's

Nah, the real problem with Cocaine is that it's so cheap.  A Kilo would be like... 2K on a regular market.

So that's like... a buck a dose?

Even if we taxed the shit out of it... it'd be ridiculiously cheap.

Still think it should be legal and all, cause i think it's a personal freedom issue.  But man.

Yeah it is. Over the summer last year it was cheaper to do coke than go to bars.

Having seen the impact of cocain on people first hand, all this study does is make me doubt all the studies that are used to support marijuana legalization.

I've met dozens of people whose lives have gone through an upheaval because of alcohol.  There are millions of alcoholics in America too.  Why is alcohol still legal?  Why is alcohol legal while many other less harmful drugs are illegal?

For me, I don't care what cocaine does to you. You want to screw yourself up, go for it. I care what it does for society.

It is my guess, that society is worse because it's illegal, just like it was worse when Alcohol was against the law.

Laws should be put in place to protect me from you. Not me from myself.
