Forums - Microsoft - 1UP: Xbox Natal is Microsoft's next console

I actually believe Nintendo will have to release an HD version sometime in the future. HD televisions will be the standard soon with programming becoming all HD within 5 years. We've already gone completely digital only a matter of time before total HD. Who wants to play a lo res game on their new LED tv? Nintendo won't have to do it now but within 5 years.

I gather my grandchildren around to tell them about "my day".

"Back in my day, we used to sit on our asses and push buttons, and Drake would climb a mountain. None of this "pretend to climb a mountain bullshit that you guys have, today. Back then, games were games!", I tell them.

"Let's steal his wallet", they reply.

Is Natal really the way we want things to go?

I'd like you to explain to me how using motion controls makes something less of a game than using a controller and pressing buttons.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

The point is that my wallet was stolen in the future. How will I buy ultra-porn? Also, themanwithnoname, explain to me how a man with no name can be your name. That's prepostorous!!!!

Does anyone pay attention to Dates of threads anymore?

nope. That's not something we pay attention to.

good point though.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

In my opinion this article is a reworking of the truth. MS will release a "360 Natal" as it would be stupid not to bundle Natal will consoles once it is released to guarentee uptake. However MS will not release Natal (next year) with a more powerful 360 unit as they know this will piss off their core userbase who have bough both the original xbox and the 360. What would not surprise me is if they announce - prior to the release of Natal - that their next generation xbox console will be backwards compatible with the 360 iteration of natal so if you buy natal for the 360 you can just unplug it and plug it into the 720 when it is released in 2011 / 2012, after all Natal is really more about the incredible software that powers it than the hardware inside it and MS are great at updating the xbox software.

tbh as long as Natal as a technology gets good reviews i'd buy it however it was packaged / bundled and whatever the cost... but then again I am not the "new" market MS is trying to tap up with Natal.
