Forums - Sony - Heavy Rain (with a VERY little minor tweeking) could easily be played on..

I didn't even know Heavy Rain had a genre, the most I would aliken to (from what little I know) is a point and click sort of game along with horror game influences.

I never played SCUMM, is it old? Can I run it on my PC? I'm only 18 and got into video games recently.

Well, SCUMM is an engine rather than a game, but it powered the Lucasarts adventure game dynasty of the late 80s, early 90s.  Games released on them included...

The Monkey Island series - back when it was actually good

Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle (my favorite)

Sam and Max Hit the Road

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis

Full Throttle

The Dig

They can all be played on modern machines using a program called SCUMMVM.  Search youtube for Day of the Tentacle Intro High Quality for a taste.

I think that it'll be a huge win for either Sony or Microsoft if they enable mouse+keyboard controls (via USB) for their respective consoles. That can open them up to a huge number of PC exclusive games (most notably RTS's such as Empire: Total War).

I love old PC games that I play (since my computer can now handle them), but I don't want to pay 1000 (or whatever it costs)+ for a gaming PC (and people complain that the PS3 is expensive...)

PS3 already has this. But no developers use this.. except Unreal Tournament 3. It supports mouse and keyboard.

Sony has had mouse support since the ps1.

O.o Sony's totally not taking advantage of this opportunity. They should work out deals to make developers enable mouse and keyboard, talk with Creative Assembly and other RTS companies to port their games, and hype up how you can play FPS's with keyboard/mouse. Hell, they could even sell PS3 keyboard/mouses to make easy money off of idiots.

God dammit Sony >.<

Console game + KB+M = PC game.

Besides, allowing KB+M support in FPS would make it unfair for people using a controller, like they are meant to.

Hence increasing their sales of their "special" and overpriced Sony keyboard+mouse.

And while you're right in that replacing the controls will make the PS3 even closer to a PC (especially with Linux capabilities), that actually sounds like a good thing. You pretty much have a PC where you don't have to worry about being an expert and getting parts, and the high price tag, but still being able to play games that are really only suited for the PC (RTS's for example. I'll love to play ES with kb+mouse).

You can use any usb or bluetooth keyboard or mouse on the ps3 though. They actually had a official playstation mouse for the ps1. ..

Check out my game about moles ^

I know you can use USB keyboards, but I'm sure there will be idiots who'll buy a Sony brand one, if they make one.

And lol at the PS1 mouse.
