Powerglove = Mattle... Nintendo had nothing to do with it.
Also if I remember right Atari had motion sensing the their console so Atari > Nintendo in the motion control race.

Bottom line: Doesn't come with every system= fail. And guess what? The same goes for motion+.

Do you know if that was before or after Nintendo was converting Japan's abandoned bowling alleys into shooting gallery arcades?

Atari's light gun didn't come around until 1986, Duck Hunt came out in 1984 but doesn't matter much since the Odyssey had it long before both of those.
(and I only know about the Atari gun because I found it while trying to remember the Magnavox gun)

I actually know nothing about the gun, I just remember seeing it in an Angry Video Game Nerd video.
This gun was invented in 1968 but doesn't say when it was released to the public so I assume shortly after that...or 1972 when the Odyssey was released.

Holy moly. 1968? Hahaha. I think Nintendo was doing the arcade shooting galleries in the 70's, but I don't remember the dates. It was during their awkward transition from cards to toys to games.
1936 saw the first light gun, allegedly.
