it is strange.
even if it is improbable to see Sony releasing a new sku, there are more and more rumor about it ... even from serious, but biaised, but serious, gamespot.

since they will put the Spiderman movie in, I suppose they want to "surf" on the BR player include on the PS3 to drive the people in the PS3 experience.

It is not completely stupid since the PS3 game cannot compete with the Xbox360 games ...

I think there are articles about them having a new one registered, so I'd think this is more true than not true, but I'm not exactly privy to Sony's corporate or marketing plans.

May the PS3 Version 4.0 (Weaker in many ways to version 1.0) commence! It's under a year old and has already mutated into 4 variations, I'm so proud of it.

Odd thought: Hey wait a second, maybe our consumers didn't really want all those mass media center options like a card reader... hmm....

Actually, another question: The 60gb ps3 ps2 emulator was crap (For visuals), and still doesn't display all games very well at all. Does the Software emulator work better for display? I.E. any Euros or people who got an 80 gig ps3 have an answer?

Interesting side note... I ran into my techie neighbor last night and he just bought a 52" Sharp Aquos LCD. Unbelievable Screen! He also bought a PS3 60 gig and did not buy a single game for it. He only bought it for the Blue Ray player -- nothing else. He said he might buy games for it some day but he is still playing games on his (yes, this is true) Original XBOX... I wonder how many of these people are out there? If there are a bunch, Sony dropping the price is going to hurt more than help if they don't have a big game library and get the attach rate up....

I think it's also possible that they might drop the price of the 80GB to $500 and use this new sku to fill the the $600 price point.

100 GB? I can feel the joke avalanche already...
