Steady Seece! Let me address this: Firstly the Xbox 360 has a 8m lead of course games have a tendency to sell better on the x360 but that does not mean that games that are multi or exclusive sell better on the x360. Games such as:
Have sold all better on the ps3!! The ps3 compared to Xbox 360 has a better attach rate, despite the 8m difference in console owners. Software sales between Ps3 and Xbox 360 are close. The notion that games that appeal to the Japanese only sell better on the ps3 is like saying that games aimed at the american market sell better on the Xbox 360. If we don't consider Japan than we must not consider America and that leaves Europe and the ps3's games sell better in Europe!! Sony Leader out! |
How many multi-platform games have there been over the last two to three years since PS3 and 360 have been competing head to head? 7 is a very small number considering there have been a lot of multi-platform games on PS3 and 360. All 7 of those games that sold better on PS3 are well established series that were on PS2.
The majority of multi-platform games obviously sell better on 360 than PS3 due to 360s much larger install base in comparison to PS3. In regards to attach rates PS3 sells higher rates than 360.
Tecmo acknowledges the truth PS3 is the superior console with more than twice the amount of processing power than XBox 360. Cell = 8 cores of 2.4GHz. 360 Xenon = 3 cores of 2.4GHz. Both systems have 512MB used over CPU and GPU.
PS3 Blu-Ray disc stores up to 50GB on one disc. 360 DVD-9 360 game disc only stores a mere 6.8GB per disc. So roughly one Blu-Ray disc = 7 DVD-9 discs.

Yeah plenty, except thats never picked up. Bulls only see red. |
I learned last year bulls are colorblind and the red is used to mask the blood.
OT: Quantum does look pretty, but I'd bet all my VG$ that it ends up not being AAA, or even AA.
Multiplatform games selling better on PS3 speaks volumes about PS3 attach rate since for most multiplayer games ability to play with your friend weighs heavily in what version you are going to buy (Xbox360 or PS3)? Since, there are 8 million more xbox360 players chances are more of your friends have xbox360 than ps3.
I am actually pretty surprised that PS3 is not far behind XBox360 in terms of sales of multiplatform games considering X360 has a nearly 30% more installed userbase unless the user base is the same and more x360 were sold as 30% people had to buy another one ;) .

NG 2 sold 1 million, how is that subpar?

There are very few occasions multi games sell more on the PS3, they either have to be Sports games in Europe, former PS franchise, or Japanese aimed. If Killzone 2 was on the 360 (yeah I know Sony owns the IP) it would be at 2.5+ million by now |
Oh no you did not just go there. If that were true, why would the listed games have sold better on PS3? I'd make the argument that games like Gears and Killzone actually sold as well as they did because of exclucivity. Killzone 2 will go above 2.5 also for sure just think about the time of year it was released.
I think making this exclusive is a good idea. Now i have no clue how good it's gonna be but it's likely that all who are interested in gears of war will give this a chance and maybe a bigger one because it's exclusive.
