WTF is it with all this "we", its like he's that friend you don't want hanging around. You're not with us ... go away patcher .. |
Well it depends on how you defiene as "we", and in your case it seems to be all owners/fans/fanboys of the 360... which Patcher can then fall into.
I thought he should have said "They", as in the game industry/developers, and he's not a developer so he shouldn't be using "We".
However, if you're putting yourself into "We", then I don't see why Patcher shouldn't be allowed to "hang" with you guys. I mean, you're an unbiased, rationale, and moderate fan of the 360 right? So if you're on the left of the spectrum, Patcher should be able to fall somewhere between from you to the most extreme of 360 fanboys on the right of the spectrum.

Ugh to you have to analyse all my posts, I was talking as if Patcher thought he was part of Microsoft.
|
I don't think Patcher's referring to Microsoft... or at the very least not Microsoft alone, but to all developers on the Xbox. The hardware is set in stone, it's done, there's nothing Microsoft can do short of adding the repeadetly failed add ons that were tried in previous generations.
I think he was saying that it's up to the developers to milk the hardware for all its worth, and that they haven't milked it to its maximum like Santa Montica did with GoW II on the PS2.
|
You're right, developers not Microsoft, even so he isn't anything to do with them he is just an analyst (a really crap one too). I know when I talk about the 360 getting pushed to the limits, I never say "we can push it just a bit more" Its no different for patcher.
|
Yeah, so like I said, he should have said "They" since he's not a developer. Although I do think you're being a bit harsh.
Yes, he's being a know it all when he has no expertise (I think) on game developing, but I think it's just common sense, at only this stage of the console generation, to say that the consoles haven't reached their maximum potentials yet.
Can you clarify? Because the exact quote was "I don't think there's any reason for another Xbox until we test the limits of these boxes," Pachter said on the show. "We're not there yet. They can keep improving this thing."
I totally understand how he's not the one who should be talking about what devs can and can't do, but I think he was just saying what everyone already thinks and knows.
