Forums - Microsoft - Which racing wheel should I get for the 360?

I'm looking to buy a racing wheel for the 360.

I know MS sell an official one - http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10095117&catid

Is that one any good? Any other ones on the horizon or that have come out form 3rd parties that are good? 100-150 bucks is about what I'm looking to spend and im hoping for good steering feel and a decent stick shift action.

Any insight is much appreciated.

lol.

Too long of a wait plus who knows how that will work. Besides, I can sit in my car and pretend im steering at any time... Need the feel of driving.

There are very few third party wheels for the XBox360 that aren't crap. So get the official Microsoft one. I haven't used it myself, but I've heard good things about it. No stick shift, just paddle shifters.

The Porsche race wheel for the XBox360 is really the only other option, but it's probably out of your price range. It's almost $200 for the wheel alone, without the shifter or pedals.

Try for a Fanatec wheel, if you can get a cheap set of pedals to use with it.

Wait for this beast to come out...its the special Forza 3 racing wheel. (presumably it should work for most other racing games)

Whoa...thanks guys. That Porche racing wheel looks great. Thats something I'd pay 200 bucks for. Hopefully they can get the price that low...

The price for the full kit is 330 dollars

More if you want a clamp to hold it to a desk or something.

Keep in mind that it's $190 for the wheel alone.  No pedals.  No shifter.  The full set is $330 and you can preorder it from Fanatec.

If you are serious about dropping $330

Preorder now, because MSRP is going to be $350.  And since it's exclusive to Fanatec, I wouldn't count on any sales or discounts.

Damn...at that price maybe I should wait for Natal :)

I'll try to demo the MS official wheel at a freinds place or something... but the lame ass paddle shifters are already a turn off.
