Forums - Sony - Respect to sucker punch. Infamous = Best sandbox game ever. In my opinion.

I've never played sly cooper or any sucker punch game before.. but wow.

I just finished infamous for the second time. This is by far the best sandbox game i've ever played. I really like gta games and this game just blows them away. It's not only because of your super powers, but it has a lot to do with the following elements.

1. The game doesn't become repetitive. After playing through it twice and completing all normal side missions, clearing up all 3 islands, collecting all the dead drops, clearing all the good side side missions, the bad side side misions and the story mode as both good and evil.. It hasn't gotten repetitive or boring. Now with a gta game for instance, later in the story it tends to drag and become dull .. and i barely ever wanna play side missions in gta cause they feel .. annoying.

2. The game is alive. This helps point A. The people in the city are really people you feel for. They react a lot to you and your actions. It keeps driving you forward. Peopel cheering you or throwing stones at you depending on how you are, Posters etc... The way that the city feels alive and the inhabitants. I actually felt bad for them when I played as evil lol. The city itself also changes when you free areas and depending on if you're good or evil.. it's literally the whole atmosphere of the game.

3. Voice acting is top notch and the story is very exciting. It just keeps you interested all the way through. The karma is also a big deal of the game the way you really see consiquences of your actions in the game.

4. Presentation. I covered it a bit in 3. But damn. This game is fantastic. There are things such as, for instance the fact that cole can't drive in a car.. It's explained and the explenation sounds reasonable (you can still get around pretty fast though.. once you learn the electric net properly) plot holes are not really a issue, it's got suspense and drive.

It gives you drive to continue through the game. It gives you the will to play through and experience it.. because it's a incredible experience.

The game is phenominal overall.. And with that I've gotta say. Respect to sucker punch. They've really made one heck of a quality game.

This is ofcourse all my personal opinion. But i'm glad it didn't turn out to be repetitive like some people feared. Au contrair. Awesome game.

I remember running around, maybe even during a mission, and hearing a tough old lady shout "Electric/Lightning man! We need your powers!" and I turn around to see a few people lying around, struggling.

Now I'm playing as evil, and it's a totally different game gameplay wise (haven't gotten far enough to get rocks thrown at me, make bigger choices).

Oooohhhh, I gotta agree on Non on this one. Vice City was the funnest GTA ever, way better than III, and had a charm that San Andreas lacked, along with GTA IV (especially in terms of fun/fucking around factor). It was small enough and the design of the city was so diverse and memorable. Music was awesome.

But so far, if it's GTA IV vs InFamous, I say inFamous beats it.

I agree. That's why I completed it twice before i made this topic.

I've also completed gta 3, vice city and gta 4. Can't remember if i finished san andreas, it got really boring near the end. Like i said infamous does it idfferently. It doesn't get repetitive. GTA games has a tendency to do. In my opinion.

Nope, you're wrong. It's a fact, Vice City is the best fucking sanbox game of all time. It's not a matter of opinion, but FACT! You gota that *angry face*

^san andreas got really boring near the end. GTA games do get repeptitive. In my opinion and like i said in the op. I think infamous is better :p

I'll still play the next gta and i hope they get around their repitition problems.

You're all wrong... the best sandbox game was one of the originals (if not THE original.)

I rented San Andreas, and didn't like it that much. Vice City, you go right in, and you just have a blast. It's the best game if you just want to fuck around and do whatever you want. Take a drive during a rainy day (I loved it when it rained in that game) with a sweet ride, and your favorite radio station on. Just put on some cheats and destroy everything (especially with the tank). Ride the bike.

Just awesome.

i havent got to play it much, but the little i did didnt impressed me much
