Forums - Microsoft - Video: Xbox 360 Games on Demand service

Joystiq wrote: "Curious how the Xbox 360's recently announced "Games on Demand" service is going to look in your Dashboard? Microsoft made this helpful video, walking you through the entire process. First off: Buying Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, for $19.99 (note: no Microsoft Points here, folks). Next: Booting up the already purchased BioShock. Simple as pie, no disc needed. And the cherry on top: Quick Launching Mass Effect from inside BioShock. Looks like a great feature ... "

eh looks pretty cool actually, sometimes I am lazy or it's late at night I think to myself man I wish Bestbuy was open, I need a new game. Now I can just pop onto Live =)

-=Dew the disco dancing fo da Unco Graham=-

Looks like another nice feature for Live.

It would be wonderfull if MS points went away completly but I dont see them giving up the revenue stream it generates. If they want this to take off they need to start selling reasonably priced larger capacity hard drives. 60 gigs is way to small to suport a digital download gaming service. It would not take many purchases to make a 120gig look too small.  They also need to impart at least the impression of Steam like reliability and by that I mean you liscence is always there and you can delete and redownload a title as many times as you want. Also if they want to be able to sell classic titles like this they need to do it at a pricepoint that is lower than its disc based version.

We need bigger HDD for this. Bring the price of the 120gb down

Live already has licensing.  Any downloadable content that is for purchase is tied to your gamertag.  It is also tied to the console that you purchased it on, but this can be moved over to any other console.

^ The reason for points is so that people dont have to pay credit card fees for what are simply microtransactions. That way you can get more content for your $$$. With larger purchases that simply does not apply.

Tease.

Microsoft pays them.  All companies pay them that accept credit cards.  But I did not know that was the reason for MS points.

Yes, he was implying that we have to pay them though.
