People lament about the lack of creativity in videogames. Well, I am suggesting, anyone who as access to XBox Live, to at least download the demo to the game. A good way to think of this is, imagine what the NeoGeo had in the way of sports. They would do quirky games based on actual sports, like Baseball 2020 (complete with landmines in the outfield). Well, Blazing Birds would be at home on the NeoGeo back then. This time, the sport is badmiton,and you have two robot players, complete with powerups. The game is a bit like tennis, except the birdie makes for some interesting different physics. Also, there are powerups, that turn the birdie into a weapon of war, and other nasty moves, like a bunch of feathers falling down to block the view of the birdie. When things get going, you have some pretty interesting volley situations. Oh yes, and there ARE fatalities. The losing robot is destroyed one of multiple different ways.

Anyhow, I just wanted to drop a note regarding this game. NickTheDude had an ad for it on his podcast. It is under the Live arcade section, and does come with achievements. So, get ahold of the demo and try it. It might not be your cup of tea, but at least it is worth checking out. I am giving a plug for this based on playing the demo. I didn't buy the full game yet.
