Forums - Microsoft - 10,000+ Against Left 4 Dead 2 (Update)

http://helldescent.com/10000-against-left-4-dead-2/

Valve’s recent unveil of Left 4 Dead 2 at this years E3 has cause a huge commotion in the gaming industry. Thousands for fans of Left 4 Dead are pissed. Why ? Because Left 4 Dead 2 is coming out in a little under a year than its prequel and previous promises of L4D1 being a long lasting experience are not being met. Valve has gone on record multiple times stating that this new game will be a better chance to build upon the Left 4 Dead experience. L4D2 is supposed to include an advance A.I Director 2.0 and new effects. Thats where the boycott comes in. 10,000+ outraged fans are boycotting the game all together stating that Valve has wronged its user base by forcing a purchase on what should be a expansion and not a stand alone game. How will Valve respond to this boycott? We will have to wait and see, but Valve is know for its loyalty to its fans so perhaps L4D2 will become an downloadable expansion and retail. Thats our best bet.

UPDATE: One of the members of this Anti L4D2 movement has made a very NSFW video that shows just how they feel about the new game. This video shows Valve representatives Doug Lombardi and others talk about the content that just quite never made it to L4D1. Hit the jump to see the video (Oh Jim Carrey how we love ye.)

L4D2 Boycott

Seriously wish these people would fuck off and get a life, if Valve listen to these people and this game gets changed in any way shape or form I'll be pissed.

Wow this is actually bigger than I thought. Could these thousands actually make developers post pone the release of the game?

I hope not. Some people just enjoy kicking up a fuss don't they? in the grand scheme of things 10k isn't a lot out of the millions it sold. Whats to say these nerds arn't creating other accounts and signing this peition multiple times?

Valve could release L4D2 at lower retail price so fans stay happy.

No they shouldn't need to. Its a new game, new Campaigns, new characters, new weapons, new AI. It will be worth 60 bucks.

why are you so mad about it? haha I mean, I understand that the only way you can get new content is by buying a full game (or paid DLC, which Valve is not really fond of), but believe it or not, there are many people that bought L4D with the promise of new stuff (free or not, including the SDK) given Valve's and TF2 history, and are obviously mad that it didn't happen.

obviously right now it won't change anything for console players and I doubt it will change for PC gamers too (I believe that the best thing that might come of this is some sort of discount when it's out), the game is already priced and I guess they have a lot of stuff already done, so please, you may as well stop acting like a jerk ("fuck off and get a life"?)

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

I'm mad because if I know one thing about Valve its that it values its fans, and I want to be playing this game come christmas.

Valve never even said they would stop supporting the original, for all people know there is stuff coming out in the next 5 months. Or new DLC for L4D2 is compatible with 1.

Try not insulting people because you won't last long.

I agree with Salaminizer, why are you getting so worked up about people not buying something?

These people are the long time fans of Valve, and the same goes for Valve, they are the people who have made the company become so big and prosperous. They were promissed something, and they feel like their trust has been taken advantage of, and broken for the sake of appealing to casual/new fans and their money.

At the very least they're not doing anything. They're simply boycotting, and in the meantime could be doing something else, like playing other video games from different companies, or doing something contemporary society considers to be productive (like that smartass 11 year old).

Far from "not having a life".

Err... irony? He wasn't really insulting you, he was just saying the truth about you and you couldn't handle that.

I don't know anyone that would say "fuck off and get a life" and not be consider a jerk.

I have already answered your first question. To start boycotting a game is pathetic, its a waste of time and the phrase "get a life" fits perfectly well.
